CCNSG Nationally Accredited Safety Passport Course
STC are a company who have been authorised to carry out the CCNSG Nationally Accredited Safety Passport Course. The course is a Safety Awareness Course designed to give information to the work force which will encourage them to work safer and be less of a danger to themselves and others. The contents of the course is based around four sessions which are believed to be the most important topics which apply to the majority of contractors; it is not designed to be company or trade specific. Examples of some of the aspects covered are:
- Health and Safety Law & Permits
- Safe Working and Safe Working Practices
- Safe Access and Egress
- First Aid and Accident Reporting
- Fire and Fire Precautions
- COSHH
- Manual Handling
- Noise
- Heavy Plant and Equipment
- Excavations
The basic operators course lasts 2 days, with an additional day for supervisors with additional responsibilities. Each session is followed by a short test, in which the candidate has to achieve a mark of 80% to continue the course, so attendance does not mean automatic approval. STC currently run these courses on a regular basis, however, we are flexible and often travel the country to carry out the courses for customers who want the course to be conducted on their own site.
The passport is valid for three years until it id due for renewal. If the renewal is carried out within three months of the expiry date, then the candidate is only required to take a one day course charged at 50% rather than re-take the full 2 day course.
